Job Description: Network Cloud Security Engineer
Position Overview:
The Network Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization's cloud-based network infrastructure. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the network, data, and systems from unauthorized access, threats, and vulnerabilities. The Network Cloud Security Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute effective security strategies, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and implement cloud security architectures for the organization's network infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures related to cloud-based network resources.
- Identify potential security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Configure and manage network security devices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Monitor network traffic and security logs to proactively identify and respond to security incidents.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement secure network solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Assess and recommend security tools, products, and technologies to enhance network security capabilities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats to continuously improve network security posture.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members on network security-related issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Solid experience in network engineering and network security, preferably in a cloud-based environment.
- Proficient knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and VLANs.
- In-depth knowledge of network security technologies and solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
- Hands-on experience with network security tools and technologies, such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Juniper firewalls.
- Proven ability to analyze complex network security issues and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and across departments.
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified Network Security Engineer (CNSE), are highly desirable.
